These conversations happened in various cities, from the bustling streets of Belo Horizonte to the remote areas of Manaus, between August and December 2019.

The study focused on understanding the mental health of these elderly individuals. It uncovered two main themes: the loss of joy in life and the resources they use to cope and find meaning. Many of the participants shared that they often feel sad, anxious, and lonely. Some even mentioned thoughts of death and feeling like a burden to their families. Sadly, some had experienced violence, which made their feelings of sadness even worse.

However, it is not all doom and gloom. The study also found that many elderly individuals have strong inner strength. They find comfort in their spiritual beliefs, social interactions, and good relationships. These factors help them maintain their mental well-being despite their physical and emotional frailty. It is clear that the mental health of elderly individuals is closely linked to their physical health and emotional state. But they have the ability to draw on their spiritual and religious beliefs to stay strong.

To address this issue, the government needs to step in. They should provide better care and support for these elderly individuals. This includes creating spaces for social activities and involving family members and home support programs in their care. By doing so, they can help improve the mental health of Brazil's elderly population.

His early career was a mix of victories and defeats. After a couple of losses, he decided to move from Manaus to Sao Paulo. Life in Sao Paulo was tough. He trained at Revira Black Team, where they often slept in the gym because they couldn't afford rent. Food was scarce, but they managed with the help of a state-owned restaurant that served cheap meals. Sometimes, they had to skip lunch, relying on the kindness of friends and teammates for food.  This is a common problem for fighters. Many fighters have to deal with the same issues.  It's a tough world out there.

Despite the hardships, Lopes pushed forward. He won fights, improved his skills, and even moved to Mexico for better opportunities. His journey in Mexico was not easy. He faced financial struggles, lived in a gym without a proper shower, and even went bankrupt trying to open his own gym. But he never gave up. He found success in jiu-jitsu tournaments, which opened doors for him. He worked various jobs to make ends meet, from being a nightclub bouncer to a gardener. He was determined to succeed, no matter the cost.

Lopes' breakthrough came in 2022 when he scored two knockouts in a row, earning a chance to fight in the UFC. He lost his first UFC fight, but his performance impressed many. He then went on a winning streak, defeating notable fighters like Pat Sabatini and Sodiq Yusuff. Now, he's on the verge of making history, fighting for the featherweight title.
