The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is getting ready to tackle the snowy roads. Brent Kovacs, the Public Information Officer for ODOT District 12, shared that rain will precede the snow, making roads tricky and messy. The mix of winter weather and New Year's Eve, a holiday known for increased impaired driving, could lead to more accidents.

"It's going to be a rain-to-snow situation, " Kovacs explained. "Depending on your travel time, you might encounter rain or snow. Be smart, don't drink and drive, and slow down. Have a designated driver or use a rideshare service. "
