2025 NFL Draft: The Next Generation of Quarterbacks
USAWed Apr 09 2025
The 2025 NFL Draft is shaping up to be a thrilling event for football fans. It’s a chance to see which young quarterbacks will step up and lead their teams to victory. Three standout players are making waves and catching the eye of scouts and fans alike.
First up, there’s Cam Ward from Miami. Ward’s journey to the NFL is nothing short of inspiring. He started as a zero-star recruit, which means he wasn’t highly rated coming out of high school. But he didn’t let that stop him. He played two years at Incarnate Word and then transferred to Washington State. Ward is known for his strong arm and sturdy build. He’s a playmaker who can throw the ball downfield with the best of them. But he does have a tendency to take risks, which sometimes leads to mistakes. Despite this, he has a high ceiling and a no-nonsense attitude that scouts love. Ward can buy time outside the pocket and throws from different angles, which makes him a versatile player.
Next, there’s Shedeur Sanders from Colorado. Sanders is often described as accurate and tough. He can throw the ball well even when he’s on the move. However, he has a habit of holding onto the ball too long, which has led to a lot of sacks over the past two seasons. Despite this, he’s ready to start from day one in the NFL. While he doesn’t have the same athleticism as his famous father, Deion Sanders, he certainly has the same swagger and confidence.
Lastly, there’s Jaxson Dart from Mississippi. Dart is a dual-threat quarterback, which means he’s just as dangerous running the ball as he is throwing it. He played in an offense that relied heavily on read-and-react plays, which might not translate perfectly to the NFL. But he led the SEC in completion percentage and passing yards, which is no small feat. Dart’s footwork needs some work, but NFL analysts have compared him to Jalen Hurts in terms of frame, leadership, and competitiveness. This is high praise indeed.
The NFL is always looking for the next big thing, and these three quarterbacks are definitely worth keeping an eye on. They each bring something unique to the table, and it will be exciting to see how they develop in the coming years.
