90 Years of Fun: Community Favorite Party Supply Store Closes Doors
Hollywood, Los Angeles, USASat Nov 16 2024
Walking into a store that feels like Disneyland, where kids' eyes light up with the joy of a party zone. That's what Vine American, a beloved party supply store in Hollywood, has been for the past 90 years. This gem has been a go-to for every special occasion, but now it's time to say goodbye. The reason? More people are choosing to shop online.
Owner Leslie Macias has been the heart of this store since she was 18. She shared how much she loved setting up the store, comparing it to the famous Macy's windows in New York. "It's something I worked very hard for. It's my lifetime achievement, " she said proudly.
Shira, a frequent customer, has been visiting the store for 47 years. She sees it as a happy place, a one-stop shop that beats the quick, impersonal online experience. "It's a happy place to come to instead of a one-minute activity online, " she said.
Macias isn't giving up on her dream just yet. She hopes to keep her balloon business going, which has been the store's bread and butter since 2020. Despite the closure, her pride in the store remains unshaken.
