On Oct. 15, a man was taken into custody after a stabbing happened at a hotel in Wellington. The person who was hurt was rushed to the hospital, but they were not in serious danger. People who saw what happened said the man who did the stabbing used hurtful words about race during a fight before the stabbing.
The police got a call about the fight and the stabbing just before 5 p. m. When they arrived, they found both the person who was hurt and the man who did the stabbing. The man who did the stabbing was later found to be Dominic Alley, who lives in Wellington. The hotel where this happened is on the 7800 block of Sixth Street. The only hotel on that block is the Quality Inn & Suites.
Alley, who is 30 years old, was arrested right there and taken to the Larimer County Jail. He was charged with three serious crimes: hurting someone with a weapon, committing a hate crime that hurt someone, and threatening someone. The next day, a judge set his bail at $75, 000. As of 4:30 p. m. on Oct. 16, Alley was still in jail. His next court date was set for Oct. 22.
It's important to remember that everyone is innocent until proven guilty in court. Just because someone is arrested and charged with a crime doesn't mean they are guilty.
