In the world of smartphones, there's a new player that's turning heads. Clicks Technology is stepping up with two new gadgets that might just change how you think about mobile devices. First up, they're launching a smartphone called the Communicator. It's got a physical keyboard, which might remind some folks of the old BlackBerry days. But don't let that fool you—this isn't just a throwback. It's designed for people who need to juggle work and personal stuff on separate phones.
The Communicator is priced at $499, but if you're quick, you can snag it for $399 by putting down a $199 deposit before February 27. It's built for folks who do a lot of typing, like sending emails or working on documents. The phone skips the usual social media and game apps, focusing instead on productivity tools like Gmail, Telegram, WhatsApp, and Slack. It's like having a mini office in your pocket.
One cool feature is the Signal Light, a button on the side that lights up to show who's messaging you. You can customize the colors and patterns, so you know right away if it's a VIP or just a regular chat. The phone also has a tactile keyboard, which means it's easy to type on, even if you're not looking. Plus, it's got a headphone jack, expandable storage, and a switch for airplane mode.
But that's not all. Clicks is also introducing a slide-out keyboard that you can attach to your smartphone, tablet, or even your smart TV. It's called the Power Keyboard, and it's got a built-in battery. You can use it with MagSafe or Qi2 magnetic connections, and it's got multiple slider positions to fit different phone sizes. The Power Keyboard is priced at $79 for early birds and will later retail for $109.
Clicks CEO Adrian Li says they've already shipped over 100, 000 keyboards to customers in more than 100 countries. That's a pretty good sign that people are interested in these kinds of gadgets. The Communicator is expected to ship later this year, and the Power Keyboard should be available in the spring.
