Oklahoma City, OK, USA,Thu Mar 05 2026
Jax Birth, a senior from Ardmore High School, spent a week in the Oklahoma House of Representatives during the second session of the 60th Legislature. The opportunity was arranged by Representative Tammy Townley, who welcomed him as a page and offered the student a front‑row view of state politics. During his time at the Capitol, Jax not only assisted lawmakers but also led a mock session where he was chosen as Speaker of the House by his fellow pages. His leadership skills earned him that role and underscored his growing influence among peers. Jax’s résumé is impressive even before college: he has earned Honor Roll honors, completed an associate’s degree in science while still in high school, and holds the positions of student body president and captain of both football and powerlifting teams. He also achieved Eagle Scout status, speaks at FCA events, runs competitively, and manages a floor. His academic achievements include scholarships from the National Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps and Texoma Chevy Dealer.
Looking ahead, Jax plans to enroll at the United States Naval Academy where he will study foreign security and cybersecurity. After graduation, he aims to serve as an intelligence officer in the U. S. Navy and hopes to work with agencies like the NSA or CIA. Representative Townley praised Jax’s sense of duty, noting that his dedication to service and country is rare for someone so young. “He carries himself with a purpose that speaks volumes about who he is, ” she said, expressing excitement for his future impact. The House High School Page Program invites juniors and seniors to spend a week from Monday to Thursday in the House chamber, assisting representatives, staff, and participating in mock legislative work. This experience offers students a taste of government operations while fostering leadership skills.
