The administration has the power to decide which countries are included in the program.The Trump administration has tried to end TPS for many people as part of a larger effort to limit immigration. They argue that allowing these migrants to stay is not in the best interest of the U. S. However, the Supreme Court has allowed the administration to end TPS for Venezuelans, while lower courts have blocked other terminations. Judge Thompson's ruling supports the idea that the administration's decisions were influenced by racial bias. The TPS program currently covers about 72, 000 Hondurans, 13, 000 Nepalese, and 4, 000 Nicaraguans. This decision gives them a chance to stay in the U. S. for now.
