A New Bill Takes Aim at Transgender Youth Care

Democratic Rep. Sarah McBride criticized Republicans for their focus on transgender issues. She argued that Republicans think more about trans people than trans people do themselves. Another bill, sponsored by Rep. Dan Crenshaw, aims to block federal Medicaid funding for gender transition procedures for minors. This bill is expected to be voted on soon. McBride emphasized that healthcare should not be politicized. She argued that Republicans are trying to politicize a misunderstood community and its care.
