Paris, FranceMon Jun 08 2026
The upcoming action‑adventure title “Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse” will hit shelves on October 15, bringing a fresh story to the long‑running franchise.
Developed jointly by KONAMI and Evil Empire, with extra help from indie studio Motion Twin, the game shifts its focus to a new heroine, Rose Belmont, the daughter of Trevor Belmont.
Set in Paris during 1499—more than two decades after the events of “Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse”—players will guide Rose through a sprawling castle, facing classic monsters and using the iconic Vampire Killer whip along with other weapons.
A recent trailer shown at the Xbox Games Showcase highlighted this new setting, showing Rose navigating elaborate stages and battling foes. The footage showcases the series’ hallmark blend of exploration and combat, wrapped in a gothic atmosphere that fans have loved for years.
The trailer also revealed fresh areas and bosses, plus artwork by celebrated Japanese illustrator Katsuya Terada. This new visual style has sparked excitement among the fan base, who are eager to see how the series evolves.
Pre‑orders opened on June 8 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Steam. Every buyer will receive an Alucard‑style costume as a bonus.
Those who choose the Midnight Edition can expect the base game plus three special items—a Trevor‑style outfit, a Sypha‑style costume, and a Family Portrait sorcerer tool. The edition also grants access to a digital gallery featuring 71 background tracks and various illustrations.
Details for the Nintendo Switch release, including pre‑order dates, will be shared later through KONAMI’s website and social media.
With its debut in 1986, the Castlevania series has grown into a beloved franchise that continues to attract new and veteran players alike.
