A New Face Joins the Bellwood-Antis School Board

The Bellwood-Antis School Board has just welcomed a new member, Bryan Fatzinger. He's a science teacher from State College, stepping in for Kathy Sweigert, who left the board in December to focus on her family. Fatzinger's term will last until the next election in 2027. Four people wanted this spot. Scott Soisson, a Sheetz executive, shared his business experience. Matthew Hollen, a photographer, talked about his community goals. John Finamore, a firefighter, emphasized the importance of investing in youth. In the end, Fatzinger won with four votes, thanks to his 20 years of teaching and a recent master's degree in education.Meanwhile, the school district is looking to upgrade tech. They need 440 new laptops for the high school, costing $314, 000. The price of RAM has gone up, making this a rush. The board needs to decide soon to avoid higher costs. They're also worried about the budget, as they're still recovering from past deficits. Fatzinger is excited to start. He sees this as a chance to make a difference. The board will meet again in February to finalize the tech upgrades.
