Learning in a whole new way, designed just for you. That’s what billionaire Richard Branson has created with his latest project – an online university called DyslexicU. This isn’t your typical school. It’s specifically tailored for dyslexic thinkers, like Branson himself. He quit school at 15 because he struggled with understanding the material, and he believes dyslexia can be a superpower. Now, he wants to help others see it that way too.
The university offers two free, one-hour courses on entrepreneurship. Plus, there’s a commencement speech by Branson, highlighting famous people who also had dyslexia, such as Muhammad Ali and Steve Jobs. But here’s the cool part – no exams! Branson thinks tests are just a way to stuff information into kids' heads. Instead, he wants schools to be places where students can explore what’s happening in the world.
Branson has been using his success to make a difference globally through his foundation, Virgin Unite. He believes wealthy entrepreneurs should give back and use their skills to solve big problems like climate change. For now, though, he wants parents of dyslexic kids to focus on what really matters – finding something that interests their child and letting them dive in.
