A New Steampunk Adventure is Coming to Xbox Only
AvalonMon Jun 08 2026
A steampunk shooter with time-bending tricks is on the way, but it won’t be on PlayStation. The game, called Clockwork Revolution, is locked to Xbox consoles and PC when it launches in 2027. That makes it the second big Xbox-only reveal at the 2026 showcase, right after another well-known franchise.
The story takes place in Avalon, a city where giant steam engines hum around every corner. Instead of just running through levels, players can rewind time to change past mistakes. Every choice ripples through the city, altering how people live and even which buildings stand tall. The idea of traveling back to fix events isn’t new, but mixing it with steampunk gear and gunpowder fights could make this stand out.
A quick look at the trailer shows a team of smart-talking friends helping the hero. Towering factories and rusty pipes fill the background, giving the world a lived-in feel. Short clips reveal sneaky ways to take down enemies—like rewinding to avoid gunfire or using the environment as a weapon. The overall vibe feels like a mix of stealthy city games and faster-paced shooters, though it’s still early to know exactly how it plays.
Fans will need an Xbox Series X or S, PC, or a phone with cloud gaming to jump in. A single purchase covers both console and PC thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere, which is handy if you switch between the two. The game will also launch on day one in Xbox Game Pass, so subscribers can try it without buying it outright. A full release date hasn’t been set yet, but 2027 is the target.
