Walking into a world that combines the vibrancy of Morocco with the warmth of the South. That's exactly what guests experienced at Potomac Hospitality Group's "Fried Chick'n & Champagne" Secret Supper. Held at Marcellus Farms, this sold-out event was more than just a meal—it was an adventure into taste and culture.
Details were kept secret until the last minute, adding to the excitement. Upon arrival, guests were greeted by live Moroccan drummers, belly dancers, and fire breathers. The estate was transformed into a cozy North African retreat with plush cushions, low sofas, and colorful table settings.
The food was something else! Executive Chef Jerome Grant and his team created a four-course feast that blended traditional Moroccan ingredients with Southern comfort. Mezze plates, ras el hanout spiced chicken, coal-fired swordfish, and taktouka—each dish told a story and encouraged guests to share in the experience.
But Potomac Hospitality Group is about more than just food. Founded by Candi Dailey in 2016, they focus on immersive dining experiences that celebrate Black culture and community. Their flagship restaurant, Ruby’s Southern Comfort Kitchen, and exclusive events like this one, aim to create lasting memories through food, culture, and connection.
The night ended on a sweet note with two Moroccan-inspired desserts by Executive Pastry Chef Padua Player—baked orange cardamom pudding and makroud el louse. "We wanted our desserts to tell a story," said Player. And they certainly did!
The Secret Supper Experience is so popular that it will return in 2025. If you're looking for a unique dining adventure, keep this series on your radar.
