A Night to Remember: Zach Bryan and John Mayer Rock the Big House

Michigan Stadium, known as the Big House, made history on a recent Saturday night. It hosted the largest single concert ever seen in the United States. About 112, 000 fans filled the stadium to see headliner Zach Bryan and openers John Mayer, Ryan Bingham and the Texas Gentlemen, and Joshua Slone. The event was a big deal for many reasons. First, it was the first major concert at the Big House in over two decades. The only other music event there was a free show for high schoolers in 1987. Second, the concert set a new record for attendance. It beat the previous record set by George Strait in June 2024 at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field. To prepare for the concert, crews worked all week. They set up a 360-degree stage and added nearly 5, 000 seats to the stadium’s turf. This was done to ensure the concert would beat the previous attendance record. John Mayer started the show with songs like \""Belief, \"\" \""Last Train Home, \"\" and \""Who Says. \"\" He performed a total of ten songs from his 2006 album Continuum onwards. He also played crowd favorites like \""Slow Dancing in a Burning Room\"" and \""Gravity. \"" Zach Bryan took the stage next. He opened with \""Overtime, \"\" \""Open the Gate, \"\" and \""Godspeed. \"\" His set included a cover of the Grateful Dead’s \""Friend of the Devil\"" performed with Mayer. The concert ended with an encore performance of \""Revival, \"" followed by a 90-second firework display over the stadium. The concert was a huge success.
