Ever heard of Suaeda fruticosa? It's a special plant from the Cholistan desert that’s been used for ages to treat swelling and pain. Scientists decided to testing how well an alcohol extract of this plant (Et-SF) works against pain, inflammation, and swollen joints in rats. They found that Et-SF has lots of helpful chemicals, like phytol and thymol, which can stop inflammation. Importantly, it’s very safe, even in huge doses. When rats got bellyaches or swollen paws from certain chemicals, Et-SF calmed them down.
It also helped rats with a type of arthritis, fixing their blood cells and reducing swelling. What’s more, scientists found that certain chemicals in Et-SF, like thymol and farnesol, could work together to fight arthritis. Et-SF even affected how genes that control inflammation worked in the rats. Lastly, it showed strong pain-relieving effects in mice. So, this desert plant might be a great natural helper for dealing with pain and inflammation!
