A poker pro, Cory Zeidman, 63, from Long Island, New York. He moved to Boca Raton, Florida, and got involved in a massive betting scheme. This scheme, running from 2006 to 2020, tricked sports bettors into thinking they had insider information. Zeidman and his team claimed to know about "dirty referees, " fixed games, secret injuries, and guaranteed outcomes. They even advertised on national radio to get more people to pay for their so-called expert advice.
In court, Zeidman admitted that their company sometimes gave false information to potential customers. This was done to convince them to pay fees, from which Zeidman profited. The scheme was a big lie, and it cost people a lot of money.
Zeidman, who won a bracelet at the 2012 World Series of Poker, agreed to pay back around $3. 7 million to his victims. He could also face up to 20 years in prison.
