Disney's Hollywood Studios, USAThu Jan 23 2025
Disney Live Entertainment recently gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the new puppets that will be featured in "The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure. " Among the highlights was a stunning life-size pink flamingo, similar to those seen in the beloved "Kiss the Girl" scene. The puppets are set to replace the old ones from "Voyage of the Little Mermaid, " which closed in 2020. The upcoming show seems to be making more use of puppets throughout the performance.
“Good Morning America” also caught a glimpse of performers rehearsing with the new puppets. In addition to the flamingo, there are two green frogs sitting on lily pads, offering a fun touch to the iconic scene. The concept art for "Kiss the Girl" was among the first previewed for the new show, suggesting it will be a significant part of the production.
Alongside the puppet revelations, Disney Live Entertainment shared images of artists working on concepts for "Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After" and costumes for the "Disney Starlight Parade. " The new show is set to open this summer, with the old marquee above the theater recently removed.
