A man from Morris, Nicholas Doran, is in hot water after a scary scene at a gas station in Channahon. It all went down on September 27. Doran, who's 23, made some serious threats that left the clerk shaken.
Here's what happened: Doran walked into the BP Gas Station on Eames Street. The clerk noticed right away that Doran's speech was slurred, making it hard to understand him. Things took a dark turn when Doran started acting aggressively. He made hand motions like he was holding a gun and said, \"You know what this is. \" Then he dropped a bomb: he told the clerk he was going to get a gun from his car and come back to shoot him.
As Doran left the store, he kept making those gun gestures and repeating his threats. The clerk quickly called the police, but Doran was already gone by the time officers arrived. The police later identified Doran as the culprit, and the Will County State's Attorney's Office issued a summons for disorderly conduct.
This isn't Doran's first run-in with the law. Court records show he's had previous charges for driving on a suspended license and a DUI. He's scheduled to appear in court on December 29.
It's important to note that the police didn't arrest Doran; they issued a summons instead. This means he's required to appear in court but wasn't taken into custody right away.
