A Virginia Student's Alleged Terror Plot

Finding out a student at a nearby university was accused of planning a terror attack. That's what just happened in Virginia. Officials arrested Abdullah Hassan, a freshman at George Mason University, on Friday. They say he was plotting to attack the Israeli consulate in New York City. Hassan, who lives in Falls Church, is alleged to have been obsessed with ISIS and shared a pro-ISIS video calling for the murder of Jews. An FBI informant, posing as a supporter, got in touch with him. Hassan even guided this informant on how to make a bomb. He suggested targeting the Israeli consulate or using an assault rifle to commit the attack. Hassan advised the informant to flee the country afterward to avoid getting caught. The university has banned him from campus while the case proceeds. It's a scary reminder that even in our own backyards, threats can arise.
