A Visit to Remember in Israel
Washington, DC, USAMon May 26 2025
A high-ranking U. S. official made a significant trip to Israel recently. Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security Secretary, touched down in Israel on a Sunday. This visit came right after a tragic event in Washington, D. C. where two Israeli embassy workers lost their lives. The trip was arranged by the U. S. President.
Noem's itinerary included a stop at the Western Wall, a sacred site in Jerusalem. She was greeted by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, who is in charge of the Western Wall and other holy places. Together, they read a chapter from the Psalms and offered a special prayer. This was done in honor of the embassy workers who were killed. Noem also left a personal note tucked into the stones of the Western Wall. She wrote in the visitors' book, "Israel is the chosen people, and the United States stands by you. "
The visit to the Western Wall was just the beginning. Noem was set to meet with key Israeli leaders. This included Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar. These meetings were likely to discuss the recent tragic events and how to move forward.
The embassy workers who were killed were identified by Israel's Foreign Ministry. Their names were Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim. They were in a relationship and were shot in front of the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D. C. The U. S. President posted a message on Truth Social. He condemned the antisemitic shooting and offered his condolences to the families of the victims. He also called for an end to such hatred and radicalism in the U. S.
Noem herself responded to the attack on social media. She wrote, "Two Israeli Embassy staff were senselessly killed. We are actively investigating and working to get more information to share. Please pray for the families of the victims. " She also vowed to bring the perpetrator to justice.
The trip to Israel was more than just a diplomatic visit. It was a show of solidarity. The U. S. stood with Israel in the face of tragedy. The meetings and visits were a way to strengthen ties and address the challenges ahead.
