As the calendar flips to the second week of October, New Englanders can expect some beautiful weather. Today, temperatures are starting in the 40s and will rise to the upper 50s, with a pleasant breeze from the northwest. Floridians are dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, but here in the Northeast, we're in for a treat. Friday will be sunny and mild, with temperatures in the mid-60s. Saturday keeps the sunshine and gets even warmer, reaching the 70s. Sunday will be slightly cooler, in the lower 60s, but don't worry, the sun will still be shining! A few clouds might roll in later in the day.As we head into the long weekend, a frontal system could bring some showers on Monday – Indigenous Peoples' Day. But don't let that dampen your spirits; many of us will miss the rain anyway. Across New England, the forecast varies slightly. Southern New England will see plenty of sunshine with highs in the 60s. Western Massachusetts will have dry weather with temperatures in the upper 50s, and watch out for a touch of frost tonight. The Cape and Islands will enjoy sunny skies and lower 60s. Northern New England will see sunshine and a few clouds, with temperatures in the 50s. It'll get a little chilly tonight, but don't worry – temperatures will rebound on Friday.
