A Wrestling Star's Fight: Rebel's Health Journey
USAMon Nov 17 2025
Rebel, a well-known wrestler in the AEW women's division, has recently shared some tough news. She's 47 years old and has been dealing with some serious health issues. It all started in May 2024 when she was hospitalized for what doctors thought was a fungal infection in her lungs. But after a year of treatment, she wasn't getting better. So, she went to the Mayo Clinic for a second opinion.
That's when things took a turn. The doctors found out it wasn't a fungal infection at all. It was something much more serious: primary pulmonary lymphoma, which is a type of lung cancer. Rebel said if there's a best-case scenario, she has it. But she's not giving up. She's determined to fight it.
On top of that, Rebel has developed a condition called Functional Neurological Disorder. This has affected her ability to walk, speak clearly, and use her right hand. She's starting intense rehab to try and regain some of her abilities. It's going to be tough, but she's hopeful.
Rebel hasn't wrestled since 2022, but she's still on AEW's active roster. She's currently on IV antibiotics to clear an infection before she can start treating the cancer. She hopes to begin treatment in early 2026. She's staying strong and keeping her fans updated on her journey.
In a tearful video, Rebel thanked her supporters and said she loves them. It's clear she has a lot of love and support from her fans and the wrestling community. They're all hoping for her speedy recovery and a successful fight against cancer.
