TaiwanFri May 16 2025
Acer has a lot to show off at the Computex 2025 event in Taiwan. They are rolling out a bunch of new laptops and monitors. These new devices are packed with the latest chips from Intel, AMD, Nvidia, and even Qualcomm. Acer is aiming to cover all bases with these new releases. They have something for gamers, creators, and everyday users.
The Swift Edge 14 AI is one of the standout models. It is a 14-inch laptop that is incredibly light, weighing just under 2. 2 pounds. This makes it lighter than the MacBook Air. The Swift Edge 14 AI has a 2880 x 1800 OLED display and can be configured with up to 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. It is also very thin, measuring between 0. 37 and 0. 65 inches. Despite its small size, it packs in two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A ports, a headphone jack, and an HDMI 2. 1 port. The price starts at €1, 599 in Europe, with availability from June. This laptop is clearly designed to compete with the MacBook Air, but it offers more ports and a better display. It will be interesting to see how it performs in real-world use.
For gamers, Acer has the Predator Triton 14 AI. This laptop is designed to be both powerful and portable. It weighs around 3. 5 pounds and is just 0. 68 inches thick. It has a 14. 5-inch 2880 x 1800 120Hz OLED display, which is great for both gaming and content creation. The Triton 14 AI comes with an Intel Arrow Lake Core Ultra 9 288V processor and a GPU up to Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5070. It also has a large haptic trackpad that supports a stylus. The price starts at €2, 999 in Europe, with availability from July. This laptop is a strong contender in the portable gaming market, but it comes at a high price.
Acer is also introducing new monitors to complement their laptops. They have a pair of 27-inch QD-OLEDs, with the Predator X27 X able to hit 240Hz at 4K and the X27U F5 able to hit 500Hz at 2560 x 1440. These monitors are expected to run €1, 099 and €899, respectively, when they arrive in Q3. There are also lower-cost 32-inch and 34-inch Nitro monitors, as well as a 6K ProCreator PE320QXT and a line of portable monitors. These monitors offer a range of options for different needs and budgets.
Acer is not revealing US pricing or availability yet. This is likely due to ongoing tariff issues. Details are expected to be announced closer to the release dates. It will be interesting to see how these prices compare to the European prices. Acer is known for offering good value for money, so it will be worth keeping an eye on these new releases.
