Adam Driver Takes the Wheel in New Netflix Thriller
Adam Driver is set to star in a new crime drama series for Netflix. The show, titled "Rabbit, Rabbit", is a modern take on hostage situations and is said to have a similar vibe to the classic film "Dog Day Afternoon". The story unfolds at a truck stop in southern Illinois, where an escaped convict takes hostages to negotiate his freedom. Things quickly spiral out of control, turning the situation into a complex social experiment and a tense battle of wits between the convict and an experienced FBI negotiator.
Behind the Scenes
The series is written by Peter Craig, known for his work on "Top Gun: Maverick" and the Apple series "Dope Thief". It is directed by Philip Barantini, who gained recognition for his unique one-shot style in the British series "Adolescence".
The script for "Rabbit, Rabbit" was sent out using Embershot software, which tracks who reads it and when. This method became popular after Zach Cregger used it for his script "Weapons".
Production Details
Netflix quickly snatched up the project and gave it a straight-to-series order. Production could start as early as next year. The series is produced by MRC TV, which has a partnership with Craig's production company, Night Owl. Craig and Bryan Unkeless will executive produce for Night Owl, while Barantini and Samantha Beddoe will executive produce for their company, It's All Made Up Productions. Driver is also an executive producer.
Previous Successes
It's All Made Up Productions has a history of successful projects, including the BBC series "Boiling Point" and the film "Wasteman", which premiered at TIFF. Craig and Unkeless launched Night Owl last year, which already has two other projects in the works at Netflix: "Remarkably Bright Creatures", starring Sally Field, and "Fight for '84", starring Jamie Foxx.

Driver is represented by WME, Barantini by CAA, Untitled, Independent Talent Group, and JSSK, Craig by Untitled Entertainment and CAA, and Unkeless by Untitled.
