AFC East's Struggles: Dolphins and Jets Hit Rock Bottom
Dolphins and Jets in Trouble
The AFC East is in a tough spot, with the Dolphins and Jets looking like the worst teams in the league. Both teams had a rough Sunday, losing to the Browns and Panthers respectively.
Dolphins' Woes
The Dolphins seemed like they didn't even want to play, and their quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, had a terrible game, throwing three interceptions and getting benched.
Their problems go beyond this season. They have Tua Tagovailoa signed to a big contract, but he's not playing like a franchise quarterback. Next season, he's owed $54 million, which is a lot of money for a player who can't seem to lead the team to victory. The Dolphins might end up with a top five pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, but they'll have a tough decision to make about their quarterback situation.
Jets' Struggles
The Jets, on the other hand, had a good defense but their offense was a mess, with too many penalties and bad plays. They seem like they're on track to get the number one overall pick in the draft. They're struggling to win games, and their offense is a disaster. Their offensive coordinator, Tanner Engstrand, is calling plays that don't make sense for their team. The only good news for the Jets is that they have a lot of cap space in the future, which means they'll be able to make moves to improve their roster.
Colts Dominate
The Colts, on the other hand, are having a great season. They're dominating their games and have cemented themselves as the best team in the NFL. Their offense is especially impressive, with Jonathan Taylor's running opening up play-action passes for Daniel Jones. They're also doing well in the passing game, and their defense is good enough to support their strong offense.
Patriots' Bright Spot
The Patriots also have a bright spot in their young quarterback, Drake Maye. He had an amazing game against the Titans, throwing for 222 yards and two touchdowns, and rushing for 68 yards. He's playing like one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and the Patriots are looking like they're back on track.
Cowboys' Comeback
The Cowboys also had a good week, beating the Commanders and getting back on track after a tough loss to the Panthers. Their offense, led by Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens, was able to dismantle the Commanders' secondary.
Giants and Jaguars Struggle
But not all teams had a good week. The Giants had a huge lead against the Broncos but ended up losing. Their young quarterback, Jaxon Dart, had a terrible game, throwing an interception in the fourth quarter that cost them the game. The Jaguars also had a rough week, losing to the Rams and falling to 4-3 on the season. Their inconsistency is becoming a problem, and they'll need to improve if they want to be taken seriously.
