These new insulins aren't on the list, even though they could really help manage the disease better. Both the public and private sectors are working on this, but starting insulin therapy late can cause long-term issues. New smart insulin pens are coming in, but making sure everyone has fair access is still a worry. It's time for policy-makers to take another look at the guidelines and maybe update the EML. The goal?
