Afghanistan's Taliban: No Women in NGOs, or Else

Two years ago, they told NGOs to stop hiring Afghan women because they didn't wear the Islamic headscarf right. Now, they're saying no women can work in non-Taliban institutions. NGOs that don't follow this rule will lose their license to work in Afghanistan. The Taliban wants to lead and check all activities of these groups. They say they're doing it to protect morals, but some people think they're just trying to control everything. Recently, the UN heard that more female Afghan humanitarian workers are being stopped from doing their jobs. This is a problem because they do important relief work. The Taliban says they're not stopping aid, but many don't believe them. They've already kept women from many jobs, public spaces, and education beyond sixth grade.
