AI Brings 'Christmas Tree' to Life in Spanish

An old Christmas favorite, "Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee, has been given a Spanish makeover using AI. Released on October 25, this holiday hit from 1958 is now available in Spanish as "Noche Buena y Navidad". The translation was done by Latin Grammy winner Auero Baqueiro and sung by Leyla Hoyle. They used AI to mimic Brenda Lee's unique voice. This is the first time a classic song has been translated into another language using AI. The song's original music and background vocals were kept. The translation was made possible with SoundLabs AI’s MicDrop technology.Many artists are now using AI for translations. In 2023, HYBE’s K-pop artist MIDNATT and indie-pop artist Lauv released AI-translated songs. Also, country star Randy Travis used AI to record a new single after his stroke. Universal Music Group (UMG) and SoundLabs' partnership made this Spanish version possible. They aim to use AI responsibly. Brenda Lee is excited about the new version, saying it's incredible to introduce the song to Spanish-speaking fans. UMG is looking forward to using AI for more new material.
