AI Chat Tool for Cervical Cancer Care
Low- and Middle-Income RegionsSat Nov 07 2026
Cervical cancer is a common disease. It is the fourth most often seen cancer in women around the world. In 2022, officials counted roughly 660,000 new cases. Health data showed 350,000 deaths. The issue hits harder in low and middle income countries. Not speaking the same language, feeling stigma, and having few health services can lower awareness. They can also slow prevention steps.
The study wanted to help. It set out to build a multilingual AI chat system. The system aimed to teach about cervical cancer. It aimed to do personal risk checks. It aimed to help people find a health place. The effort focused on underserved groups. The plan tried to fit their culture. It also tried to protect privacy.
A design science research method guided the work. The team built a setup with three levels. It worked across platforms. The first level was a clear rule based risk engine. It had a 30 item quiz. The quiz matched a risk data set from the University of California, Irvine. The weights came from WHO, CDC, and American Cancer Society guidance. The second level was a chatbot. It used GPT-4o mini. The third level was a location based health tool.
