One of the AI models, Anthropic's Claude 3. 5 Sonnet, showed some resistance by refusing to answer misleading questions 60% of the time. However, the researchers say this is not enough. The protections in place are inconsistent and can be easily bypassed. They call for stronger safeguards, better transparency, and policies to hold developers accountable. Without these measures, AI could be used to manipulate public health discussions, especially during crises like pandemics. The study highlights the urgent need for action.
