AI Tools Boost Primary Care Decisions

The review looked at how AI helpers work in family doctors' offices. They wanted to see if the tools really help doctors make better choices. They also looked at how the tools affect the time doctors spend with each patient.

Researchers searched big databases from 2011 to 2025, picking papers that tested AI that doctors actually use. The search covered five main databases and also used a separate platform to find extra papers. Only studies that used a learning AI or case based AI and were done in normal doctor visits were kept. The team read each paper alone and then compared notes to decide if it fit.

Out of many papers, only a few met the rules. Ten studies used AI, the rest were old style tools. The AI studies covered different health topics and used various designs.

The evidence shows AI can change how doctors decide, make visits faster, and maybe help patients, but the quality is mixed. Some studies said the tools cut down paperwork and let doctors see more patients. Others found little change in health results or doctor confidence.
