Alamosa High School's boys wrestling team, known as the Mean Moose, made a strong statement by winning the Clash at the Coliseum Tournament in Farmington, New Mexico. They didn't just win; they dominated, taking home the title after winning all 10 of their dual meets.
Their journey to victory started with a bang, crushing Durango 78-6. They kept the momentum going, beating Monument Valley, Bayfield, Ganado, Soroco, Chinle, and Montezuma-Cortez by wide margins. It wasn't just about winning; it was about how convincingly they won.
The championship round was no different. They faced tougher competition but still came out on top against Montrose, Farmington, and Aztec. The scores might not have been as lopsided, but the result was the same: victory.
Seven wrestlers went undefeated throughout the tournament: Jeremiah DeLaCerda, Anthony Meder, Uriah Martinez, Daniel Martinez, Tony Griego, Max Dokson, and Aaron Jordan. Their individual performances contributed significantly to the team's success.
Looking ahead, the Mean Moose will compete in the Les Mattocks Invitational in Denver. With three consecutive wins in this tournament, they'll be aiming to make it four. Their performance in New Mexico shows they're a force to be reckoned with.
