Alien Hoax or Truth? A Netflix Docuseries Sparks Controversy

Linda Napolitano, who claims to have been abducted by aliens in 1989, has sued Netflix. She and the estate of author Budd Hopkins allege that the upcoming docuseries "The Manhattan Alien Abduction" defames her and steals the work of Hopkins, who wrote about her story in 1997. The lawsuit aims to stop the series' release and seeks damages. Napolitano agreed to participate on the condition that only one interview with Carol Rainey, Hopkins' ex-wife, would be used.However, she was upset when she saw the final cut, which features Rainey prominently as a skeptic. The docuseries questions Napolitano's claims and includes statements from witnesses who doubt her story. Netflix has not yet commented on the lawsuit. This isn't the first time Napolitano's story has been told, with prior documentaries and podcasts exploring the same events.
