If you're having trouble getting your printer to work on your new Windows on Arm device, you’re not the only one. Microsoft has acknowledged printer issues on Windows 11 24H2 for Arm devices. The problem? Users can’t install printer drivers, not even from the manufacturer’s website. But don’t fret, Microsoft has a solution. Instead of using the installer, you can manually add your printer through Settings.
To check if you have an Arm device, head to Settings > System > About. Under “Device specifications, ” look for “System type. ” If it says “ARM based processor, ” you’ll need to follow these steps. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, then click “Add device” to manually add your printer. This workaround should get your printer up and running until Microsoft finds a long-term fix.
Printer woes are nothing new, but at least there’s a temporary solution. It’s a bit of a hassle, but at least you can print again.
