In Singapore, it seems that while many workers are using artificial intelligence (AI) in their jobs, they're keeping it quiet. According to a recent report by Slack, 52% of workers in Singapore are already using AI, but a surprising 45% of them feel uncomfortable telling their managers about it. The popularity of AI in the workplace is growing, and it's creating new job opportunities too. The demand for AI talent has skyrocketed in Singapore, with a whopping 4. 6x increase in job postings related to generative AI between September 2023 and September 2024. So, what's holding workers back from embracing AI openly? Many fear being labeled as "incompetent, " "lazy, " or even "cheating" if they admit to using AI for work tasks. It's clear that while AI is transforming the workplace, some people are still uneasy about how to use it effectively and fear the potential judgments that come with it.
