After safely splashing down near Florida early Friday morning, a crew of four astronauts were taken to a hospital for check-ups. One of them, a NASA astronaut, remained in the medical facility for a precautionary look-up due to a medical issue, but they're okay. The crew, which spent nearly eight months on the International Space Station, had faced several delays before their return. The mission, called Crew-8, was part of SpaceX’s routine crew-carrying service for NASA.
Officials didn’t give specifics about the astronaut's health, keeping their privacy in mind. The other three crewmates were later flown to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston after their health was cleared. Such extensive medical check-ups are normal after lengthy stays in space, and this mission was longer than usual at 235 days. Unexpected delays like weather issues and technical problems with other spacecraft had pushed their return.
