Austin and Jodie's 'The Bikeriders' Finds Its Audience on Prime Video

Chicago, USASun Dec 15 2024
It's that time of year when people dive into holiday movies, but not all streaming hits are about festivities. Alongside a Bruce Willis action flick and Megan Fox's sci-fi horror film "Subservience, " there's a new non-holiday movie gaining traction on Prime Video. Jeff Nichols' period piece, "The Bikeriders, " stars Austin Butler and Jodie Comer in a story about the Vandals Motorcycle Club. Tom Hardy appears as Johnny Davis, the club's founder. The film, based on a photo book, follows the club as it evolves from a group of friends into a gang, capturing American cultural changes along the way. Critics liked it, giving it an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the film didn't make a huge splash at the box office, earning just under $36 million worldwide against its $30-$40 million budget. Now, though, it's finding its audience on Prime Video. This is a chance for people to see Jodie Comer in a role that deserved more attention and to enjoy a unique perspective on a fascinating chapter in American history.
