Avoid These Fantasy Football Pitfalls in Week 17
USAWed Dec 25 2024
Fantasy football can be tough, especially when a player you’re counting on has a bad week. Let’s look at some players who might not perform as expected in Week 17.
Jared Goff has been doing great lately, but his matchup against the 49ers could be tricky. San Francisco has been tough on quarterbacks, allowing just 14. 6 fantasy points per game this season. Goff might not reach his recent average of 29. 5 fantasy points.
Chuba Hubbard had a fantastic game last week, but his performance against the Buccaneers might not repeat. Tampa Bay has been solid against running backs, especially after their bye week. They’ve allowed only 48 rushing yards and 10. 6 fantasy points in the last four games.
Rico Dowdle faced a tough defense last week and it showed. He’ll face another tough one this week against the Eagles. Philadelphia has been tough on running backs, allowing just 14. 7 fantasy points per game.
Jerry Jeudy could be a risky start, even if Winston is back. The Dolphins have been tough on wide receivers, allowing only 16. 3 or fewer fantasy points in 40% of their games.
Khalil Shakir has been doing well, but he might struggle against the Jets. New York has been good against wide receivers, allowing just 23. 8 fantasy points per game.
Jake Ferguson has been inconsistent and faces a tough matchup against the Eagles. Philadelphia has been tough on tight ends, allowing just 7. 7 fantasy points per game.
