Bahrain Practice Disappoints Red Bull
BahrainFri Apr 11 2025
Max Verstappen had a rough day in Bahrain. The Dutch driver was not pleased with his car's performance during the second practice session. He struggled to find the right grip and balance, making the experience less than enjoyable. It was a tough day for the team, as they seemed to lag behind their competitors.
Verstappen had to sit out the first practice session. He let a rookie, Ayumu Iwasa, take the wheel. This decision was part of their strategy to test the soft tires. However, this plan did not pay off as expected. Verstappen admitted that the gap between his team and McLaren was significant.
The team tried a different approach for the Friday practice. This strategy did not work in their favor. Verstappen was honest about the outcome. He stated that the gap was large, and the session was not fun. He even had to practice drifting at the end, which is not ideal for a competitive driver.
Meanwhile, Yuki Tsunoda, Verstappen's teammate, also had a challenging day. He finished in the 18th position. Tsunoda was still learning the ropes as a new Red Bull driver. He mentioned that the session was messy and that the car's setup was different from what he was used to. This made it difficult for him to perform at his best.
The team has a lot of work to do before the main event. They need to address the issues with grip and balance. They also need to figure out a better strategy for the upcoming sessions. It will be interesting to see how they bounce back from this setback.
