Jaylen Brown, a forward for the Boston Celtics, has always been curious about science. He grew up watching "Bill Nye the Science Guy, " a TV show that made learning fun. Recently, Brown took to Twitter to express his wish to meet the show's host, Bill Nye. His dream came true on a Friday night after the Celtics won against the Washington Wizards. Nye, a former engineer turned TV star, was at the game. He shook hands with Brown in the hallway at Capitol One Arena. Brown was excited to meet Nye because he appreciates Nye's contributions to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education. He believes that Nye's show helped him in his educational journey. Brown said, "To be able to shake his hand, it was pretty cool. "Nye appeared on the jumbotron during the second quarter of the game. He held up a customized Wizards jersey with his name on it. Brown had no idea that Nye would be at the game. He was happy and honored to meet him.
