In a revolutionary stride to elevate domestic cricket, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the implementation of prize money for exceptional performers in women's and junior cricket events. This pioneering move, announced on August 26 by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, will bestow financial rewards upon the best Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament across all domestic women's and junior cricket competitions. Under the Domestic Cricket Programme, Shah declared that prize money will be granted to the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament in all women's and junior cricket tournaments, as well as the Player of the Match in the Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali tournaments for Senior Men.
This initiative aims to acknowledge and celebrate remarkable domestic performances, fostering a more rewarding environment for cricketers. Shah expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Apex Council for their unwavering support in cultivating a more lucrative atmosphere for cricket's rising stars.
