BetUS Mixes Up Portland Bars in Sports Ranking
A gambling site called BetUS released a press note claiming the top sports bar in the country sits in Oregon. The bar they named is Bonfire Country Bar. It actually sits in Portland, Maine, not the Oregon city.
The venue occupies a historic building with exposed brick walls. Swinging benches line the floor. Hazy IPAs and cocktails served in mason jars are on the menu. Flat‑screen TVs cover the walls for game viewing.
BetUS based the ranking on three numbers: average Google rating, cheapest beer price, and hamburger cost. The data snapshot is dated September 16, 2026. The bar holds a 4.5‑star Google score and offers free bacon during happy hour.
A spokesperson for BetUS later admitted the error. They thanked Oregon for the jokes that followed. The mix‑up shows how easy it is to confuse two cities with the same name.
