Big Changes Coming to Ridge Schools: $8 Million for Fields, Tracks, and Roofs

The Bernards Township School District is making some big moves. They're spending around $8 million to fix up their schools. This money will go to improving the Varsity Field, resurfacing the Ridge track, and replacing roofs at two schools.
First up, the Varsity Field at Ridge High School is getting a major makeover. The soccer and baseball fields have been having some serious drainage issues. To fix this, the school board has approved taking out $1, 409, 315 from the Capital Reserve Fund and another $1, 339, 815 from the Maintenance Reserve Fund. This money will be used to replace the soccer field with artificial turf, add LED lights, and improve the baseball field. New bleachers, goal posts, and scoreboards will also be installed.
Next, the roof at Mount Prospect is getting replaced. The school board approved a change order for Laumar Roofing Co. Inc. to handle this project, which is expected to cost $1, 326, 939. 15.
The roof at Cedar Hill is also in line for some upgrades. The school board approved taking out $2, 964, 400 from the Capital Reserve Fund for this project.
Lastly, the Ridge track is getting a new surface. The school board approved taking out $1 million from the Maintenance Reserve Fund to cover the costs of resurfacing the track.
These improvements are part of the school district's ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade its facilities. The projects are expected to be completed in the coming months, providing better facilities for students and the community.
