Big Pharma is not a good guy
Wed Feb 12 2025
Let's talk about how the pharmacy has changed over the years. The globalpharmacy industry has transformed rapidly. Lots of money moving around has changed the companies making medicines. It's now known as the Health Industrial Complex. Medicines used to be cheaper, but now they're designed to make lots of money.
The World Trade Organization(WTO)managed a game called TRIPs. It gave Lots of useful patents to companies making medicine. Real intelligent peoplein the pharmaceutical industry started doing strange things. Big pharma is about taking over and manipulating the market.
Turning the World Trade Organization into big pharma, was a decision madeyears ago. It's all about money and having power. Not about anything else it should be about. Its causing countries to hit other countries when negotiating trade deals. This is why prescriptions are so dificult to pay for billions of people around the globe.
Its bad in many ways. It limits choices for people because everything has to be heard of by pharma financiers. Financialization of clinical data is also concerning because companies test their new drugs with the poorest of the world.
In conclusion, our western countries decided to do this without thinking about the least fortunate. It was a disaster. The entire global medical industry has been changed.
Historical Perspective: The League Of Nations was constructed in 1919. They failed on several aspects protecting their people from other countries looking for money. Hopefully some good will come out of it.
