Big Stars Join Forces for L. A. Fire Benefit Concert
Los Angeles, USAFri Jan 17 2025
A massive wildfire crisis has hit the Los Angeles area, and the music industry is stepping up to help. On January 30, a benefit concert called FireAid will be held at both the Intuit Dome and Kia Forum. The lineup includes big names like Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry. They'll be joined by other stars like Jelly Roll, Gwen Stefani, and Rod Stewart. The show will be broadcast live on various platforms like Apple Music, Netflix, and Spotify. The goal is to raise funds and support those affected by the fires.
The concert is organized by Live Nation, AEG, and the Azoff family. American Express, Intuit, and UBS are sponsoring the event. Proceeds will go towards rebuilding the city's infrastructure, helping displaced families, and preventing future fires. The LA Clippers are covering the event costs.
The fires started in Pacific Palisades and spread quickly, destroying many homes and causing tens of thousands of people to evacuate. Sadly, at least 25 lives have been lost. The music industry has been greatly affected, with many artists and executives losing their homes and studios.
This concert is one of many efforts by the music industry to support fire victims. Organizations like ASCAP and MusiCares have created emergency funds, while companies like Sony Music Group have made large donations. Several events in the area have been canceled, including many Grammy week gatherings.
