Binance Gives UAE Workers a Choice to Move or Stay
United Arab EmiratesSat Apr 11 2026
Binance has offered about 1, 000 employees in the United Arab Emirates the chance to relocate temporarily to cities such as Hong Kong, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok because of growing tensions in the region. The company said it wanted to give staff flexibility while keeping operations smooth, as it already runs on a remote‑first model.
Despite the offer, many team members decided to remain in the UAE. Binance’s spokesperson said that business in the country continues normally and that the company remains committed to being a key player there. The firm also highlighted its ability to keep serving users worldwide without any interruptions.
The relocation option came after a ceasefire was announced following roughly six weeks of heightened conflict that disrupted everyday life in the UAE. During this period, the country intercepted hundreds of missiles and drones, according to its defense ministry. The unrest has also caused major events—like TOKEN2049 Dubai and the Dubai International Boat Show—to be postponed or cancelled, affecting not only crypto activities but also sports sponsorships such as Formula 1 races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
Earlier this year, Abu Dhabi Global Market confirmed that Binance’s global platform would operate under its regulatory framework. This move was seen as a step toward formalizing the exchange’s structure, especially since Binance does not have a single global headquarters. The firm still supports its worldwide operations from Abu Dhabi, even though it employs around 20% of its global staff in the UAE.
