Blazing Clues Point to Edison

Thu Feb 06 2025
You might not be surprised to hear that recently it was revealed a utility company may be responsible for starting a wildfire in a Northern LA neighborhood so it's no surprise that SoCal Edison has admitted that it is likely that the equipment they have used to deliver electricity to the area may have caused the Hurst Fire in Sylmar. Edison filed a report with the state of California. Edison is quick to say that no deaths or any homes destroyed are related to this fire. It's not clear yet if the same equipment overheated or if something else caused the fire to start but Edison is planning to check if their equipment is safe. However, it's important to note that these fires are only a fraction of the current fires burning in the state of California. Edison reports that one of the fires, the Hurst Fire, was confirmed to have started near Sombrero Canyon and Saddletree Ranch in Sylmar. Vasquez, who lives in the Sylmar area, reported that she personally witnessed a transformer tower explode and start the fire as she saw the flames from 4 miles away. But, the 2019 fire that was located near Vasquez's backyard was confirmed to have started underneath a high-voltage transmission tower. Investigators have stated it's been related to power lines. These fires are not the first to be related to the utility company. The Saddleridge Fire of 2019 was confirmed to have started underneath a high-voltage transmission tower. Imagine the wind hitting hard enough to blow over a transformer tower, creating a massive explosion. Must be scary! Just imagine if it happened in your backyard. It's scary to think a utility company might be responsible for causing more fires in the same area. Perhaps it's more than just a coincidence that two fires in a dry area were caused by the same company?
