Boosting Activity and Endurance in Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue: A Short Intervention

<unknown>Tue Dec 24 2024
Fibromyalgia (FM) and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) are health issues that affect many people. Both conditions make it hard for people to be active and can cause a lot of pain. A recent study looked at whether a short program that includes exercise, healthy eating, and paying attention to daily rhythms could help improve how much people with FM and CFS can move, their muscle strength, and how well their bodies handle exercise. The study wanted to see if this program could help people with FM and CFS become more active, spend less time sitting, and sleep better. It also aimed to see if it could improve muscle strength and how well the body can use oxygen during exercise. The program lasted for a short time and combined different types of activities to help achieve these goals. The researchers found that the program did help improve some aspects of health for people with FM and CFS. However, they also pointed out that more research is needed to figure out the best ways to help people with these conditions live healthier lives.
