Border Trouble: The Drug War is Real

USAWed Feb 12 2025
The southern border of the USA is in serious trouble. We have a big problem with drugs like fentanyl flooding in. This drug is causing lots of deaths, especially among young people. Why are we letting this happen? Fentanyl is a strong painkiller that can kill you with just a small amount. The issue has gotten worse over time, and now we are forced to deal with it. President Trump has put in place tariffs on goods from Mexico, Canada, and China. This move is aimed at making these countries take responsibility for the illegal drugs and immigrants pouring into the USA. The president is sending a clear message: the USA won't be walked over, and there are consequences for actions. The tariffs are a strong weapon to fight the drug war, stop illegal immigration, and make sure the USA comes first in trade, which would help generate billions of dollars. The president is focused on keeping Americans safe, which means having strong borders and getting rid of fentanyl is a must. Drug cartels in Mexico are using chemicals from China to make these synthetic opioids and are making a profit off of the death of thousands of innocent Americans. The border crisis is no joke. In 2024, the United States Customs and Border Patrol had more than 10 million encounters with people trying to enter the country illegally. That's more than the whole population of New York City. These numbers are shocking. The president is pushing hard to keep America safe. He is doing this by finding a way to stop the flow of illegal drugs and people. The drug war has hit home in places like West Virginia. Fentanyl has caused more deaths per capita there than in any other state. In 2021, there were 1, 253 opioid deaths in West Virginia and 76 percent of all drug overdose deaths were related to fentanyl. This is a wake-up call for everyone. We can't just sit back and let these deadly drugs keep flowing into our country. The president is determined to finish what he started during his first term. He is a businessman and a skilled negotiator. He is focused on keeping Americans safe. He has the best interests of our country at heart and will do what is right to keep strong trade relations while holding these three countries accountable for having contributed to the influx of illegal immigrants and drugs pouring into the United States. The tariffs are a necessary step at this time to ensure that our nation is secure, and the American people are protected. The president is working hard to finish what he started during his first term. Under his strong leadership our nation will be safe and respected once again.
